There are numerous things to do in Blackpool to keep you entertained. For example the tower is Blackpool's most famous sight, an icon of traditional British seaside fun. Blackpool Illuminations switch on is a star-studded extravaganza commencing at the end of August, running through to early November. During September there are world firework championships with dazzling professional pyrotechnical displays.
